Quick post

Sorry for the short post, here are a couple of cards I had made earlier...

Thanks for visiting.......

WoW!!!!!!!

White on White card was interesting and challenging. I very strongly associate white with purity and there are very few things that can be as pure as Love, so I made this card to celebrate the day of love. I tried to bring in different textures in the card. First I made the envelope using 8.75 inch square cardstock and one of my favorite spellbinder die “gold elements” I see myself going for this die very often. Then I cut 2 spellbinders floral oval dies, made couple of roses using the tim holtz flower die to decorate the top of the Envelope with some pearls from want2scrap. The sentiment" for you" is from stardust medallion labels. I think the card came together pretty fast, here used spellbinder’s marvelous squares and stacked them with pop dots. Embellished the card with white ribbon and some pearls and glitter dots. The sentiment on the card is from "Hugs & Kisses" sentiment clear stamp. The card measures 5.5 inch square.

Paper Piecing

Phew!!!!! lot of cutting  and piecing. Be a guest designer for Flourishes!!! oh what a treat so thought of doing something different to give an extra oompf...... hope the my card is able to portray it. I am entering this card in the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC240 details of which can be found here .

For my card I cut out spellbinders fancy lattice in four colors, blue, red, yellow and green and then pieced it together to come up with a different design. It did take me a while to decide on the design..but this paper piecing technique has so many different options and you can come up with so many designs to give your card a unique look with just one die.

Once my background was ready, I moved to my stamped image, this one is from flourishes “tulips for friends” stamp set…….isn’t it such a cute image. I used copic markers to color it. Honestly I am going nuts over the deep red shade I got in the flowers………this girl loves red. I had invested in copic markers after I read all the raving reviews and of course they did not disappoint. I would like to try some other alcohol markers too, as I love experimenting with new products maybe will put them on my birthday gift list. Is it just me or seems like I have a lot of different wish lists going on. After my image was ready, I fussy cut it and popped on spellbinders gold circle die. Popped my circle die on the background paper towards the edge so I can show off the hardwork on the background. I think the card came together nicely……..

Hope I did justice to the card with the pictures. Thanks for stopping by.......

Celebrate........

Dear blog friends, today I have a very special card using the colors from the JustRite Color Challenge #102. The colors made me feel very warm and tender, so made this for my DH. I just received spellbinders elegant labels 4 in the mail so I had to use it, normally I have a rough sketch in mind before starting a card but this time it was the die I wanted to use for sure. Love spellbinder dies, they have just taken die cutting to another level and are so easy to use, cannot imagine making a card without them. I am slowly working on expanding my die collection, have a lot of the dies on my Christmas list already now all I need to do is impress DH with this cardJ. For my card I started out with cutting out the spellbinders elegant labels 4, stamped and embossed my image. After placing them on top of each other I felt the image was a little small for the die so customized my labels 4 piece by cutting a piece out from the center. I created a window using spellbinders majestic squares, just love this technique so easy and gives the card a third dimension. Fussy cut my stamped image and placed it in the center of my window. Embellished with some rhinestones and my card was ready. I spent about an hour on the project. Hope you all like it and thanks for stopping by…………….

3 of My Favorite Cards

That's a tough one..........having just started my creative journey and actually documenting it through this amazing portal I have based my selection on the cards posted by April 15, 2013.

Black Elegance

Today I made good use of my maternity leave and time between baby naps, its a different story that my laundry is not done and the house is a mess but got me some crafty time. And now that I am done I can scratch my head for some quick dinner recipes :).

So I did a complete 180 degrees on the wedding monogram card posted couple days ago and tried to come up with something different and outside my comfort zone when it comes to choosing colors.

My card base for this card measures 5 1/2" square. my second layer is 5 1/4" square, on this piece of cardstock I glued aluminum foil and embossed it with spellbinders M-Bossibilities EL-006. Then I cut out a window with spellbinders marvelous squares. I framed the window with 2 layers of marvelous square die set and rolled the top layer with a pencil to give a dimension to the card. Stamped the monogram with JustRite monogram stamps and bordered it with the Damask borders. to finish the card I added some rhinestones and pearls, colored the dots on the embossed layer with copic marker R89 and Voila..........

Pretty in Pink

Recently I got a call from my friend who is getting married, asking me to make her a monogram card so I got thinking on how to make her a really special card......saw the challenge on JustRite papercrafts and immediately knew how I wanted this card to look. So here's a look in my window.

I had a lot of fun creating this card. My card base measures 5 1/4" X 5 1/4". I knew right away I wanted to use spellbinders gold ornament one die.....lately seems like this my go to die template. So I cut out two triangular ornaments and stuck them at the opposite corners of my card base. I wanted approximately 1" distance between the triangles so thats how I came up with 5 1/4" square base. I added the two smaller triangular ornaments at the other two ends. Filled the depression with pink stickles to give it sparkle. Cut out a rectangular shaped window for my monogram and framed the window with spellbinders floral oval, scalloped ovals large and fancy tags. Inside the card I stamped my monogram with the Just Rite monogram and Damask border stamps. Framed the monogram piece with spellbinders marvelous squares. Had to add some bling to the card. Also not sure if the picture shows but I also sprayed the monogram with tattered angels dazzling diamond glimmer mist.

Products I used:

Stamps : JustRite monogram and Damask Borders
paper: Gina K. Designs
Accessories: Spellbinders gold ornament one, floral ovals, scalloped oval large, fancy tags and marvelous squares, 3D Foam circles, pink stickles, tattered angels glimmer mist, want 2 scrap black rhinestones.
